I mean in all seriousness Junpei really does lack the discipline for ballet at the moment, was a bit rude and did something unacceptable

reiko • 1 year ago

but someone who's just starting and is so passionate about it..the teachers should be more encouraging him into right direction rather than forcing them to give up!!

Tegan • 1 year ago

I think out of all the adults, the pianist was the best at givinghjm the type of encouragement he needed. Instead of just telling him he was wrong and to do this instead, she acknowledged what he was good at, showed him where he would need to go to get what he wanted out of dancing, and talked him through figuring out for himself what he needs to work on. When it comes to kids like Junpei, getting them to connect the dots themselves is going to make the lesson stick better than just telling them.

reiko • 1 year ago

yess..the pianist was sweetest and I think this kind of encouragement is needed in case of all students who are learning something new!!

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

Completely agree. Pianist Woman was the best

Mister • 1 year ago

Agree, that’s why this anime is really good. It’s realistic and I like the french in the title. “Danseur” I guess the developer knows his history.

Actually she doesn't know he is rookie. And ballet is something you learn from very very young. Then at his age after learning decades of ballet and still he haven't discipline? Honestly better quit. Even in this episode she told her assistant research those 2 background. I think she will know now.

reiko • 1 year ago

ohh yeah..that's a good point!! but thankfully Junpei wants to improve himself now..hope those classes brings the change

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

Well of course, I'm not saying the woman should have said this isn't for you, that was too much but in general Junpei gotta change a loooooot lmao

reiko • 1 year ago

ohh yes completely agree..I gues joining her academy will bring forward some changes!!

Mister • 1 year ago

His character is probably developing into becoming independent and less codependent. I haven’t read the Manga but the time skip would be epic.

kaeyasupremacy • 1 year ago

that's why when I don't understand something in class, I just sit there in confusing cause ion want the teacher to go ballistic

ahh..can relate..I used to do the same thing 😶

This is why we have character development lol

This show is doing the same old Extreme Contrast Cliches like most series with some sort of posh elitism.

If you consider Kaori from KimiUso, she intentionally bucked established rigid hierarchy to have fun for her own important reasons. But Jumpei is just someone shallowly chasing euphoria. Problem is, instead of old woman's somewhat indirect advice, someone should just straight up explain to him the rigid hierarchy & that if he wants to do his own thing, he'd have to be in a somewhat independent environment (but of course, he should still learn the fundamentals), or gain the power to challenge it within the established hierarchy.
Even irl, people tend to blindly or scaredly follow established rigid hierarchy without actually trying to logically understand & navigate it, much less challenging it.

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

But also Swan Lake has a history and one can't just CHANGE the choreography of it so much that it ruins the story. Anyone doing ballet would state this is obvious

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

The only reason why that viewpoint is relevant here is because it's a contest judged by elitists.
If it was a show under a circumstance where personal interpretation was fair game, sticking to established choreography wouldn't be as important.

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

I say this in a none rude way but "no shit". Most of the time like this, It indeed was not fair game even if done

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

What are you saying? For clarity, are you saying there’s no circumstance where a traditional ballet can be reinterpreted?

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

No I’m saying unless it had been stated that it was okay to change choreography (as you also said), then it’s unacceptable to change not just a few moves but BASICALLY THE STORY. (/nm) Junpei refused to die tho the story needed him to. It made the production look sloppy and unprofessional

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

This sounded a bit vague, which is why I clarified.

Irie, we're mostly on the same page.

(/nm) Junpei refused to die tho the story needed him to. It made the production look sloppy and unprofessional

There are a few things going on here.
I don't blame Chizuru but she should've put more thought into Jumpei's trauma & motivations while teaching him, considering his jarring flips between denial & euphoria.

Then there's the usual problem of normies & elitists enjoying different things re Jumpei's (& KimiUso's Kaori's) performances. There should be some effort to bridge the gap, eg. clearly stating for normies that the performance is judged against traditional standards & excessive deviations aren't allowed. There should also be a professional performance to demonstrate that traditional choreography can be presented "intensely" without improvization. (Ultimately, education should be more logically comprehensive since infancy but some governments tend to cut education & health funding so...)

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

Nah, its that squinty eyed bitch that is just too fussy. Having a passion makes you better than anyone at anything, rather than a pattern repeating machine

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

She was rough sure but you can't just change ballet. It's not a play, every movement makes sense story wise and is really passed down for yeaaars like art. If Junpei was my student and did that on purpose i'd throw him out for sure lmao

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

Then you would have lost a future potential just bcs you are fussy, if you say you were going to do that.

People are not slaves, they have free will and can fight the way they want. Don't put down someone else's style just bcs its not something boring you see every day!

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

It's not just being fussy. Junpei was disrespectful in general and though people are obviously not slaves, the way you talk make me believe you have never done ballet. Ballet is draining most the time with how consistent everything needs to be

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

Well, this consistency is what makes ballet a limited art. It is not supposed to be trapped in rules and definitely not suck up to the so-called 'experts'. Ballet ca be better if performed FREE! What they are doing now is chaining his true self and true abilities.

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

Did you every do ballet? Honestly answer me if you can. Not being rude, genuinely curious. Cuz traditional ballet isn’t really a “free” thing unless you’ve got all the “basics” down after at least 14 years of training. Only then can you get a certificate to open your own school and teach it however you want

popoko • 1 year ago

you can only break the rules once you understand the rules.

popoko • 1 year ago

thats quiete a naive mindset. patience need to be accompany with skill. hardwork without direction and discipline are stupid

IStandAlone Roronoa Zoro • 1 year ago

Tell that to Goku who is now the strongest being in the world or Saitama who could be even stronger... All Saitama did was 100 of each thing.

norigami • 1 year ago

Its cuz he thinks he's in a shounen anime. That attitude always works out in those lol

Alpha Neko • 1 year ago

BEST EXCUSE I SWEAR LMAO PFFFF

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

The elitists are like "Dream K!ller" Jun et al from Iwa Kakeru.
Obsessing over tradition is shallow; it ought to be about evidentially balancing fundamentals, innovation, fun & anything else that improves the art.

Rudino • 1 year ago

True... but it still a hard pill to swallow. :pouts:

And gave a good advice!!

Astolfo-kun • 1 year ago

Junpei just can't help dancing to the music, and showing all of his emotions. Piano lady shared good words of advice to him

Nan Demo K(Nai)ves • 1 year ago

I'm glad to see the repercussions of Junpei's adlibbing and how it affected Chizuru by losing attendees to her classes. Yeah it was a great performance but for the parents who were looking forward to seeing their children dance and then hearing how someone highly respected in the industry holds a negative opinion on the performance and Junpei making it worse by arguing back Chizuru was bound to lose some girls. On the other hand, it was great seeing Hyouta so supportive for Junpei, nice to see him give Junpei some encouraging words.

I can't believe Junpei crashed the class though, like I thought they were going go through a less forceful method, I wonder how Chizuru will react when she hears what happened lol.
